Description: The industrial zone was drawn up as a joint project of the town of Trinec and ironworks Trinecke zelezarny and is to take advantage of financial support based on PPP principles. The town of Trinec is owner of the zone, as well as the investor and a subject receiving state subsidies with financial participation of Trinecke zelezarny. The industrial zone is absolutely full at the moment. Construction work on the industrial zone ended in July 2001. The initial investment needed for building infrastructure in the zone reached CZK 80.5 million. Costs related to the construction of frontage roads inside the zone reached CZK 78 million in year 2006. In September 2007, construction of scissors junction was launched. This part of the project was worth approximately CZK 400 million and was finished in year 2009. Until the by-pass road I/11 is built, it will help to deal with complicated traffic situation in direction of Slovakia, caused by building of automotive plant Hyundai in Nosovice. There are 6 companies in the industrial zone, which employ more than 600 direct employees. These companies invested into the zone approximately CZK 1.2 billion so far. Even though we are experiencing the economic crisis, it is surprising that in case of majority of companies in the industrial zone Baliny, they continue their development creating more jobs. As to date, the amount of finances invested here reaches CZK 1.8 billion in total, including investments of the investors, state subsidies, the town of Trinec and Trinecke zelezarny. Industrial zone Třinec Baliny placed first in category "Brownfield of the Year 2006", which was part of the competition Business Real Estate of the Year 2006. In 2009, Mayor of the town Vera Palkovska was awarded in the competition Business Real Estate Manager. She was nominated by company CzechInvest, agency supporting business and investments.
